2016 has definitely been one for the ages, in our house we call it the year of WTFs. We found ourselves constantly exclaiming “WTF!!!” every time we turned on the news – Legends died, America gained a fascinating new president, brexit happened, Zika happened, Lochte-gate happened, Kanye had a meltdown, speeches were plagiarized, Aleppo violence escalating, I could go on and on. It wasn’t all bad though; 2016 gave us Lemonade, Insecure and Atlanta. The chibok girls got to go home, the Cubs won the world series (apparently its a big deal in baseball world), Leo won an oscar, I discovered baking, Awesomely Luvvie, lost 15 lbs and cut my hair. I can say without a doubt that 2016 was an extraordinary year but I was happy to see its end.
Like everyone, I am very excited about the new year, I love new beginnings, I love a good reset. I got so caught up in all the excitement that I decided to give the blog a bit of a face lift. I got rid of some of the clutter, rearranged the sections, and I now have a brand spanking new recipe post – with a printable recipe card I should add. It doesn’t end there, I am getting a make over of my own – this one has been in the making for the last 9 months, and that is getting back in shape. I’ve been working out 6 days a week, sometimes twice a day and I am loving it. I’ve also changed the way I eat and my energy and productivity keeps improving daily – very soon I will start running races.
I am looking forward to all the recipes I’ll be cooking with my friends, coming up with fun dining/decor inspiration, I am even looking forward to sharing my fitness journey, cooking techniques I’ve learnt over the years, and even a few of my kitchen high jinx. Looks like 2017 will be great fun!
